Security & privacy

Precise, non-vague claims about how we handle your sensitive documents.

Where processing happens
Runs in your browser. Files never leave your device.
File storage and retention
Processed in memory. No files stored on our servers.
Encryption
All connections use TLS. Client-side processing keeps files local.
Model training
Your files are never used to train AI models.
Access controls
Sign-in protects your workspace. You stay in control of your files and session.

AI detection is highly accurate for common patterns. You can review all detections before exporting. For high-stakes documents, we recommend a second pass.

A dedicated security page is planned and will be linked when available.

Frequently asked questions

Concise answers to common questions. Plain language, no jargon.

Where are my files stored?
In the app, files are processed in memory in your browser. We do not store your documents on our servers. There is no retention—once you close the tab or download your redacted file, the original is gone from our systems.
Are my files used to train AI models?
No. Your files are never used to train our models. Customer data is never used for AI training or product improvement.
Does RedactSnap work on scanned PDFs?
Yes, when OCR is available. Scanned documents with clear, machine-readable text are processed. Low-quality scans may have limited detection.
Can RedactSnap redact images?
Yes. RedactSnap supports PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, BMP, and SVG. Images with embedded or overlay text are detected and redacted the same way as PDFs.
Is the redaction permanent?
Yes. Redacted output is flattened and baked into the file. Original sensitive content cannot be recovered from the exported document.
Can I review detections before exporting?
Yes. The workflow shows what was found and lets you confirm before the redacted file is generated. Never export blindly when handling sensitive documents.
Does RedactSnap support bulk or batch processing?
The app accepts multiple files at once. Dedicated batch processing for large volumes is planned for future releases.
Is there an API?
Not yet. An API is planned for future releases. The current product is browser-based.
What about compliance (HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.)?
RedactSnap processes files in your browser; data stays on your device. For formal compliance requirements, a dedicated security page is planned. SOC 2, HIPAA, or other certifications are planned for enterprise offerings.
What types of sensitive data does RedactSnap detect?
Names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, account numbers, IDs, SSNs, and similar identifiers. Detection quality varies with format and document quality. Handwritten text has limited support.
