RedactSnap (“we”, “us”) provides tools to detect and redact sensitive information in PDFs and images. This policy explains what information we handle, why we handle it, and the choices you have. If anything here conflicts with a signed agreement between you and us, the agreement controls.
Information we collect
Account and authentication. If you create an account, we collect the details you provide (such as name, email address, and credentials) and technical data needed to operate authentication (for example session tokens managed by our auth provider).
Documents you process. RedactSnap is designed so that redaction runs in your browser and your files are not uploaded to our servers for processing. We do not intend to store the contents of documents you redact on our systems. If you contact support and attach a file, we will use that attachment only to help resolve your request.
Service and security logs. Like most web services, our infrastructure may collect limited technical information automatically, such as IP address, device and browser type, general location derived from IP, timestamps, and error or diagnostic logs. We use this information to secure the service, fix bugs, and understand aggregate usage.
Communications. If you email us or otherwise contact us, we keep the correspondence and related metadata so we can respond and improve support.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve RedactSnap;
- Authenticate users and prevent fraud or abuse;
- Respond to support requests and legal obligations;
- Analyze aggregated or de-identified usage to improve the product.
We do not use your documents or their contents to train generalized machine learning models.
Sharing and subprocessors
We use trusted vendors to host the application, run authentication, and operate email or analytics where enabled. They may process personal data only on our instructions and under appropriate safeguards. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the public.
Retention
We keep account and log data only as long as needed for the purposes described above, unless a longer period is required by law. You may request deletion of your account subject to legal or contractual exceptions.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@redact-snap.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
RedactSnap is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
International transfers
If you access the service from outside the country where our providers operate, your information may be processed in other countries where data protection laws differ. We take steps designed to ensure appropriate safeguards where required.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated by email or in-product notice where appropriate.
